Towering mountains, the deepest gorge in the world, desert with a shadow of Mountain and unparalleled hospitality of the diverse ethnic communities on the way are few of the many attractions this trek will offer. Your trek will begin from Pokhara with a short drive to Nayapul. After crossing the Modi Khola your steep uphill trek will begin towards Poonhill via the infamous steps of Ulleri. You will be passing through green paddy fields, suspension bridges and lush green forest abundant with Rhododendron trees along the way. As you reach Poonhill in the early morning next day, you will realise the view is worth over thousands of blisters. The sunrise and the majestic 180-degree view of the Dhaulagiri Mountain, Nilgiri Mountain and the whole Annapurna mountain range will evoke a felling of Blissfulness.
Then we will head downwards to Tatopani which is widely known for its hot water springs at the bank of Kaligandaki River. Many people throng to the pond with a belief that it can cure almost any skin diseases. You can relax there, perhaps with a beer, in the hot water pond to melt your pain and tiredness of the day.
Even more adventure awaits the other day. The deepest gorge in the world in between two towering Mountains: Dhaulagiri and Annapurna, the cascading Rupse Chhahara (Waterfall) will be the day's attraction.
After encountering the Gurung and Magar communities you will enter into the homeland of Buddhist Thakali people: Lower mustang. The trail will follow the course of Kaligandaki river, famous for its shaligram stones (Ammonite) regarded as pious in Hindu religious belief. Before we reach Kagbeni, we will be passing through the Marpha village , famous for its apple ciders and brandy. Kagbeni , with its medieval buildings, terracotta Buddhist figures and the narrow alleys settlements overlooking the widespread bank of Kaligandaki river will be a perfect place to call it a day and soak in the magnificence of the surrounding.
Then comes Muktinath located at the foot of famous Thorong-La pass that forms the part of Annapurna circuit. A holy site sacred to both Hindus and Buddhist equally, It is believed that taking bath in the all 108 water sprouts will wash away your sin. But be aware, the water is freezing cold, though!.
We will then head down to Jomsom, the administrative centre of Mustang district, famous for its infamous late morning and afternoon wind that blows so hard that the aircraft need to be tamed with strings.!
The next day you will fly back to Pokhara with memories worth million to cherish over.
